Imaginary Valley

Imaginary Valley was a collaborative public art project developed with designer and illustrator James K. Hindle. At a time when the abundance of empty store fronts on Main Street in Northampton, MA was a frequent topic of conversation in the local news and politics, we created a series of posters with an open call for the community to tell us what businesses they wanted downtown.

The posters were taped to the windows of empty store fronts, calling attention to the abundance of vacancies. Responses were collected and results shared through a website, which was designed and developed by James.
